Visions Of Paradise (1986)
Going with the flow - sometimes floating - sometimes flowing - Visions Of Paradise is a free-flowing excursion into transcendent, inner spaces of imagination. The visions you capture along the way are pure and uplifting, sweeping past as you float through the peaceful inner chambers of the mind.
The First Vision is an inner vision that begins with a welcoming gateway, from which you flow down into an abstract inner space. It is like floating adrift in the centre of a giant floatation tank, with a light fog hovering a few metres above the water. As the mists disperse you discover that the space is actually a mighty cosmic cathedral and you have come to rest in the middle of a glorious ceremony. Very slowly you are carried back - to the 'alter' of the material world.
The Second Vision is more of an outer vision. It begins on a mountain top and you imagine falling in a flow of delicate droplets, down a cascade of waterfalls, and out into a shallow lake. In the swirling waters of 'being', you are drawn blissfully into the depths of the waters before being carried forwards and upwards by the current. The lake then becomes a mighty river of dancing, crystal waters that stretches all the way to the ocean. Within and without the vision is one and the same - Paradise!
When playing the First Vision followed directly by Second Vision, imagine you are contacting and connecting and cleansing and transforming deeper levels of your mental body through two separate processes: higher (sublime imagination) first, the lower (tangible cognitive) second.

Reviews
SOUTHERN CROSSING Magazine
Of all the releases by Japetus, I find 'Visions Of Paradise' the most accessible, but also the hardest to describe. It is music unto itself, an emotional sensation, a cosmic mood. As with places we may journey to, we feel we have been there before - deja vu. If that sensation could be translated into music, you would have 'Visions Of Paradise'. Composed, arranged, produced and performed by Japetus, an Australian master musician.... this is deep music.
